February, 2014. I guess it’s been a while since I wrote a blog post. Yikes.
Since our time in Mexico is coming to an end, I’ve started reflecting back on the past several years and instantly regretted not recording our adventures. Over the next several months, I am going to go back and share some of our travels. I’d love to share with friends and family and create an archive for us to look back on and reminisce.
Cuatro Ciénegas is about 3 and a half hours north-west of Monterrey, in the state of Coahuila.
This was a beautiful road trip into the desert… with a combination of endless mountains, sand dunes, blue lagoons and an itty bitty town with a whole lot of nothing to do, but enjoy the food and each others’ company.
We visited the white sand dunes, Poza Azul (protected wetlands), a wetland camping area where many families were enjoying picnics despite the wind, and a beautiful old church.
Well worth the drive and a beautiful trip!
